A well-equipped sewing lab has 32 sewing machines, overlock machines, two fashion-makers, and four mannequins. The testing lab is equipped with course length tester, quadrant balance, twist-tester, wrap-reel, and Beesely’s balance. A dye-chem lab is available for dyeing the fabric. Licensed TukaCAD software is available.

The department conducts regular exhibitions on traditional textiles and fashion to exhibit the talents of the students. It also conducts workshops on embroidery (hand and machine) and painting (pot, glass, fabric). Guest-lectures on various topics are conducted periodically. The Department brings out a news-bulletin The Vasavi Chik that contains interesting articles written by students every year. The Department organizes two-day exhibiton Tex Spire, Tex Bloom, Tex Innova to bring out the creativity of students. Every year the Department conducts add-on course on various topic such as TUKA DESIGN STUDIO, TEXTILE CAD. Industrial visits are also arranged for the students. Every year the Department conducts two Workshops for the students on Painting, Embroidery, Jewellery Making & Printing. Designer contests such as Facun Faction ’08, Fashion Fusion, Mass Exodus are conducted every year to enhance students’ creativity.
