The main motto of NSS is to create awareness among young minds about their social responsibility and create interest among youth and also involve themselves in social responsibility programmes.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Sri Vasavi College has 6 units headed by 6 NSS Programme officers with a volunteer strength of 600. A week long special camps are conducted in selected villages every year for both boys and girls separately in which various awareness programmes are conducted with the association of village people, local body administration and school children. During these camps, our NSS volunteers render various services in the adopted villages like Swachh Bharat (Clean India), Jal Sakthi Abbiyan, Fit India movement, Awareness Rally, Digital India, PMKVY(training for young minds), Free Medical Camp, Eye Camp, Tree plantations etc. Citizens of our adopted villages are motivated to build toilets and avoid open defecation to improve their self hygiene, cleanliness, sanitation and good health.

Apart from this, students are motivated to participate in National Level camps, Blood Donation camp and National Integration camp at Delhi. The NSS units celebrate all days of National and International importance. Volunteers are also encouraged to participate in various social relevant workshops, Training programmes, Awareness Rally and Marathon etc. The NSS units implement various Government Social activities like Flood Rescue project at Bhavani River, Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission 2.0 along with MHRD, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Khelo India, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Department  of National  Highway (patrol), Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, Department of Food Safety and Medical Administration and Department of Hindu  Religious and Charitable Government of Tamil Nadu.

               Since 2014 -2015, our NSS units participate in special camp at Sabrimala, organized by Akila Bharatha Ayyappa Sevasangam, Govt of Kerala and rendered service such as Emergency team, Annathanam team and campus cleaning.
