The National Cadet Corps unit of Sri Vasavi College was started in the year 1970-71, with an aim to inculcate discipline and patriotism among the students. During its inception, the strength was 70, and at present the sanctioned strength of 52 Senior Division and 52 Senior Wing cadets are on roll. NCC Senior Wing for girl students was started in the year 1999-2000. Both the boys unit and girls unit are performing well. Captain S.Z.Niazudeen is the NCC officer of the Senior Division and Lieutenant N. Mythili is the NCC Officer of the Senior-Wing.
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. To Develop qualities of Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country. To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, to Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation. On various occasions, many Army officials visited our Institution. Commodore R.S.Malia, Deputy Director of NCC, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry visited our Institution during February 1973 and accepted the ceremonial parade honour given by our cadets. Col.N.Ramachandran, Group Commodore, Coimbatore visited our College during August 2000, and accepted the Guard of Honour given by our NCC Cadets. Lt.Col.K.Ramakrishnan, CO, 15 TN BN NCC, Erode, Lt.Col.B.B.Gurung, CO, 4 TN BN NCC, Coimbatore, Lt.Col.Alwarsamy, AO, 12 TN BN NCC, Salem, and Lt.Col.K.P.Chawhan CO, 5 Girls TN BN NCC, Coimbatore, Col. Ajay Kumar Singh, CO 12 TN BN NCC, Col. Irshad A. Khan, Group Commander, Coimbatore, Commanding Officers Col. Shekawat Col. Sudhir Nair, Col. Sunil Damodaran, Col. Henry J Robert, are other important Army officials visited our Institution.

The vast training grounds, location of semi-urban area, the facility for short-firing range, water resources, etc., available in our campus have made it possible to organize various NCC camps. Five camps have been organized in different years in which more than 2000 boy and girl cadets from different parts of the country have stayed in our campus and enjoyed their camp life. Besides, our College has been the center for the conduct of B and C certificate examinations. The NCC cadets from different districts like Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Ooty, and Coimbatore appeared for the examinations.
The NCC unit has organized various social service activities like conducting Blood donation camps, Eye Screening Camps, tree plantation, Anti tobacco rallies, Swatch Bharat Mission Programmes, etc.

- VANAM (Vasavi Alumni NCC Association members) – an alumni body of Vasavi NCC alumni
- This Alumni Association was formed during 2016-17
- 220 alumni cadets have been enrolled in the association.
- The main objective of this association is to conduct coaching classes to the current cadets to face the competitive exams in Tamilnadu Uniformed services and Indian Army.
- During the last three years classes were handled on week ends. Every year 80- 100 hours of classes were conducted
- The classes were handled by VANAM members. Mock tests were conducted and reviews were given for further improvement.
