Sri Vasavi College, sponsored by Erode Vidya Sangam, is entering the fifty four year of its fruitful service in the cause of education in this part of the country. At the time of its inception in the year 1967, it was only a Pre-University College, located in temporary buildings in Erode-town, It has now grown into a post-graduate institution, offering nine under-graduate courses, four post-graduate courses and research facilities in different disiciplines. The college has spacious buildings in the slopes of hills close to the river Cauvery. The Main Block, Western Block, Silver Block & Computer Science Block accomodate all the courses. The college office and a lovely musuem are located in the Main Block. The college library and Conference Hall are housed in the Library Block. Two modern computer centres are functioning with all
facilities in the Main Block.

The College was made a co-educational institution from 1997-98 onwards. The College library has more than 51,900 volumes of books and subscribes to 87 professional. Spacious play grounds and facilities for
indoor games are available to the students to nurture their interest in sports and games. A Staff-Student Co-operative store, an extension counter of The Lakshmi Vilas Bank / DBS Limited with ATM centre and Aavin Parlour and Post Office are the other facilities available in the campus. The college is accredited by the NAAC with B Grade during the academic year 2013-2014 (First Cycle), 2019-2020 (Second Cycle).
