Electronics
 

The Department of Electronics was started in the year 1995-96, to offer B.Sc. Electronics programme with a sanctioned strength of 32. The M.Sc. Applied Electronics programme was introduced during 2001-2002, with a sanctioned strength of 24. The students have exposure to the state-of-the-art techniques like VLSI design, Embedded Systems, Optical Fiber Communication, and Digital Signal Processing. The department offers M.Phil. (Full-time & Part-time) in Electronics since 2004.

 LAB FACILITIES

Well-equipped UG and PG laboratories with Microprocessor Kits, Interfacing Cards, Dual and four Trace Oscilloscopes, Triple and Regulated Power, Supplies, Simulators for Microprocessor and Controller, EPROM Programmer, Function Generators are available.

 ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

The Department organises periodic seminars and workshops enabling the students to keep in touch with latest trends in this dynamic field. The Department is releasing a quarterly news-bulletin Vasavi Sense. Every year the Department conducts Elex-Expo an Electronics EXHIBITION portraying practical skills of the students. The Department conducts add-on courses in the topics of audio/video servicing techniques, telephone and TV servicing, TV/DVD servicing, MS Office & cell phone servicing. The students are given circuit ideas to develop various electronic gadgets. The students of this Department have successfully designed and erected satellite dish antenna, receiver, a colour TV, P4 computer and moving display unit in the College.
