The Department of Physics was started in the year 1978-79 to offer B.Sc. Physics programme with a sanctioned strength of 32. The affiliating University recognized the department as a research centre for M.Phil and Ph.D. research programmes during the year 2011.

a) PROGRAM OUTCOME
At the end of the B.Sc., Physics Programme, the students will acquire a clear knowledge in various areas of Physics. The students will be motivated to pursue higher education and scientific research. The students will be equipped with both theoretical and practical skills to fulfil the current requirement of the society.
b) PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOME
- The programme will provide a forum for the students to get broad scientific and technological vision.
- The students will approach and solve their real life problems by understanding the science behind them.
